What makes me, ME? What makes you, YOU?

whatmakesmemeSome may call it boredom, or lack of anything else to do, but I have more than often found myself wondering, “What makes me, me? How am I unique? What differentiates me from all the other people I know?”

youareyou

We choose to believe, that each one of us is unique in our own way. When I say we choose to believe, I say it because every one of us has questioned our very existence and wondered why people wanna be with us and whether it is a particularly unique trait that attracts others to us.

Well, yes, there is. There definitely is something awesomely unique about each and every one of us that is waiting to be discovered. Though I am yet to find that little thing about me, I know that I am going to know it someday and I will then know why people choose me over others.

Till then I will continue to be me, unchanging, unfazed and always proud of what I am. Because I know that today, no one can be me’er than me: me in my unique ways, me in my silly ways, just me all the way!

Embrace what God has moulded you into and be yourself without self doubts, because…

The things that make you “different” are the things that make YOU!

Happiest of Birthdays to the Jungle Boy!

Santosh, aka the Jungle Boy, turned 29 yesterday. It was an eventful birthday, starting with his surprise trip to Bangalore to celebrate the day with us, to me surprising him with a birthday dinner with his best friend, Mano and her hubby, Roshan.

Anyways, anyone who knows me at all, should know how bad I am in giving surprises and even receiving them! So the very fact that he was able to surprise me and I was able to surprise him on his birthday by itself was a miracle. So here is snapshot of the day:

Unfortunately, some people have to work even on their birthdays. Such is the ways of the World 😛 Well, as Santosh toiled at work the whole day, I plotted and planned his big big surprise without his knowledge; and, come evening, everything went as planned and the look of surprise on his face when he saw who would be joining us for dinner was worth it all.

We had a good dinner at Thulp, complemented by the amazing banana muffins by Mano:

All in all, it was a good evening with friends. Will always be thankful to God for such amazing friends who made our day.

P.S: Our dinner was followed by a doughnut and gossip session with my lovely roommate, Heena.

Here is a look at the events of the evening:

Whom Then Shall I Fear?

Well, better late than never, they say. So, though late, here I go again. I just gained some insight into life that I would like to share with y’all. So a couple of days back, as I sat at office trying hard to work without any motivation, I decided to listen to some music to clear up my muddled head. So I put on my favourite online radio station, and guess what, the song that plays is “Our God” by Chris Tomlin. Now this is one of the many songs that I had only heard for the first time at church and today I am going to tell you how that song changed the way I perceived my life. Before I start, here is a link to the song:

For the past few days, I think I have been having the usual self doubts, fueled by the words of people who mouth off whatever random thoughts passes their mind. I am sure we all have a couple of people in our life who are always ready to point out our shortcomings. But why is it that we, who know and believe that there is a God that loves us beyond measures, fail to understand that our God loves every single thing about us and would never let any harm come to us.

Every single time when faced with a situation where I feel that I am not able to face or overcome it, I fail to realize that if I could just believe and ask my God to help me, that situation would not look so scary anymore. Anyways, same was the case that day, and when I actually listened to the song, I realised how silly I was to worry. Again, here are the lines that got me thinking:

God

It’s just these two lines that made me realise that when we know our God is for us, there is nothing that could ever stop us and if we believe that our God is with us, there is no one who can stand against us.

So the next time you worry about something silly like

  • Why am I not good enough? Am I not putting in enough effort?
  • Why is my hard work not recognized? Is giving up on my principles the only way to grow?
  • How will I manage a family? I don’t earn enough.
  • What if it rains? How will I ride home?
  • Am I smart enough for this?
  • Will I ever learn the skills required for this job?
  • Why can’t I look like her/him?

Ok, honestly, these are just random things that I am sure all of us fear and I am sure there are many doubts and speculations that run through all your minds. But the idea and gist of what I am trying to say is, that whenever these thoughts creep into your mind, just pray and surrender your worries to God knowing that He would find a way to relieve you of all your worries, because…

Our God is greater, our God is stronger, God you are higher than any other.
Our God is Healer, Awesome in Power, Our God! Our God!

Well I am pretty sure that this is indisputable! Good day/night and hope my words have made sense to some.

Late Beginnings

Late beginning, but finally I have decided that the day has come to get started entertaining the people who will take the time out to read my blog.

Stay posted for a lot of fun reading material! I intend to fill this space with little narrations of incidents I witness on a daily basis.

I will also be uploading short stories, poems and images from my day to day adventures.

To get started, here is a few images from my awesome trip to Coorg and to Dubare Elephant Camp in Kodagu, Coorg during the month of December, 2015.
