My Pregnancy and God!

Part One

‘I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him. ‘ 1 Samuel 1:27

Over the next few weeks I will be taking you through my pregnancy with letters I’ve written to Thia (to be given to her when she grows up).

Sometimes, no matter how hard we pray and plead with God for something we need, it will seem like He doesn’t love us and is not responding. But the truth is that He is just asking us to wait.

'He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in their hearts, yet so that man can’t find out the work that God has done from the beginning even to the end. ' Ecclesiastes 3:11

Simple and straightforward, this is our record of how you came into our life as a miracle. Our little ray of hope, shining into our life just when we most needed a reason to believe, you are just awesome.

So as you may know by now, if we have already told you, you had a little brother who went up to be with God a year before you were born. We named him Moses and we really did love him a lot, but God loved him more. This will be a story for another day, today is a day about you.

So here is how you came into our lives, completely orchestrated by God alone:

God sent a message through our family and friends

Vinu: You know your athai (paternal aunt) Vinu right? She told us in the mid of 2017, after we lost Moses, that she saw your paati (grandmother) holding a little baby in her arms. Yes, she did. Can you believe that? It was decided way back then that you would be coming to our lives, that’s how awesome our God is.

Vidya Sam: Quite the surprise, but yet not surprising! Two days after your paati in heaven passed away, your amma’s friend Vidya had a dream where she saw your amma pregnant. Now she did not tell me this immediately. But she did come to visit me the next day to offer her condolences for our loss.

Now why did God choose her to show this message?

A little history on her: She also lost her little boy/girl when she was three months pregnant like amma. Answer to why God chose her, probably because He felt that she was one of his own that genuinely prayed for our well-being and knew very well what we must be going through.

Initially, when I got pregnant with you, for the first 3 months, we decided that we would not be telling anyone. During this period, Vidya messaged me and asked me if I was pregnant, but I decided not to tell her yet. During the start of the fourth month of our pregnancy, our faith was put to test by God, and that is when we decided we should tell the people who we thought would genuinely pray for us. That is when we told Vidya and she came back to me a few weeks later, telling me about her dream and how God wanted her to pray for me.

Surekha: God chose her twice over to show that I was going to get you. In January 2018, again around the same time when paati passed away, Surekha had a dream where she saw your paati holding a chubby little baby girl. So amazing right? Our God is amazing that way!

Now she messaged amma immediately and asked if I was pregnant, but unfortunately that time I wasn’t, and I told her that and also that my amma passed away and wasn’t with us anymore. Neither of us could decipher the dream then.

When I turned 4 months pregnant, she messaged me again asking if I was pregnant and that she had a dream where she saw me pregnant. Now that was amazing, it was a reminder from God saying, “Hello, remember I told you she will be pregnant, and see, she is pregnant now. Have faith in me! Because through faith, everything is possible with Me!”.

God told your appa too

28th January 2018: Your amma and appa went to church on this day and during the worship session at church, your appa had a vision from God showing him climbing over a big big mountain and that He (God) is with us, saying, “He will help us climb and cross the huge mountain!”

That was God’s way of telling us that He is with us and will help us through all our struggles, one of which for us was getting pregnant again. Such an amazing way of reassuring us that at all times, He is with us and guiding us.

How we got the news

So, a couple of days went by and we were anxious for the day we could test and know whether God had answered our prayers this month, or if He wanted us to wait for the right time. This was around the time your appa was preparing for a very important exam called GATE, that would help him apply for a PhD. Well, the week after the 28th passed quickly with work and every day activities and before we knew it and it was Friday, the last day of the week.

On this Friday, I was in a not so good mood, because I had just got my periods again, which meant no baby. I spent the next few hours sleeping and crying and then ordering some really nice Andhra chicken and mutton curry. After eating, I slept for a few hours and woke up feeling much better. It looked like your amma got a false alarm, I wasn’t bleeding anymore. So anyways, I still did not think that I should take a test based on our previous month’s experiences, we felt that it was too early to test.

The next morning, your appa got up really early and left for his exam. I said bye to him and thought of going back to sleep but was really restless, I felt in my heart that I should take a test, even though I was so sure that it was going to be negative. So I called your appa and told him that I would be taking the test, and he said, “Ok, but don’t keep your hopes up and get upset when it is negative.” And that is what I did.

I very excitedly opened up a test and did as instructed on the box and kept the test on top of the washing machine and waited with my heart in my mouth. And there it was!!!! A very faint but a very much visible second line, I was literally in shock when I told your appa over the phone that yes, it is a positive. Here is a picture of the positive test:

My positive First Response test

Imagine his reaction, he was on the way to the exam hall for his exam and he just couldn’t believe it!

And that is how we got the news!!!

Coping with grief, new beginnings and more…

Yes, it has been over 9 months since I have posted anything and I am hoping some of you out there have been getting restless and have been wondering where I have been off to!

Well, I was very much here and dealing with the ups and downs of life, the ups and downs that have temporarily taken away my capacity and will to write and share much…

But I am back and am I back how!

Firstly, I am very happy to announce that I am pregnant! Yes I am! Now that’s the great news that been keeping me busy…

Apart from that, the year did start on a sad note, with me losing my mom. She was battling cancer for almost a year, and early in the morning on the 31st of December, she breathed her last. That has been and still is a lot to handle but sometimes, we do not know or understand why certain things happen the way they do, so we learn to cope!

The love of amma

Me and my beautiful amma

But God is good always, and even though it is really hard, when you have a little faith you will see how much more God loves the brokenhearted. It is only that love that has made it possible for my family and me to stay strong, even when that is the last thing we want to be. And it is that love that has given us, my husband Santosh and I, the biggest blessing, at the right time and when we most needed it. So yes, God is always good and loves the brokenhearted.

‘The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. ‘ Psalm 34:18

‘He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. ‘ Psalm 147:3

‘My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. ‘ Psalm 73:26

‘ “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God ; believe also in me. ‘ John 14:1

‘And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. ‘ Romans 8:28

‘ Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. ‘ Matthew 5:4

Let’s See You Spot these Camouflaged Animals…

When surrounded by nature, you will never know what’s watching you until you look closer. But don’t look too close or you’ll get bit 😛

Let’s see how many camouflaged animals you can spot in these clicks by Santosh Rajus 🙂

They are watching us! Let’s see if you can spot them…

Midnight musings…

Months have gone by,
Days, minutes, seconds, all fly,
Yet I haven’t forgetting that unfortunate day,
And the way my heart was torn away.

What would I not do to go back in time,
I would do anything to just be able to keep what was mine,
And here I am, 8 months ahead,
Still not being able to get him out of my head.

But,
Even when my heart cries and
Mind says there is no Hope,
I will look up to the God Almighty,
He who brought me thus far,
Will lead me through this All
I will sing and I will cry
All my heart to you Oh Lord!

In you, Lord my God, I put my trust. I trust in you; do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me.
Psalm 25:1‭-‬2 NIV

He gives the childless woman a family, making her a happy mother. Praise the Lord !
Psalms 113:9 NLT

Isaac pleaded with the Lord on behalf of his wife, because she was unable to have children. The Lord answered Isaac’s prayer, and Rebekah became pregnant with twins.
Genesis 25:21 NLT

God will bring you through it all…

Didn’t get that job you want?
Facing rejection everywhere?
Wondering why you’re not making it,
When everyone else you know is leaps and bounds ahead of you?

Never wonder, ponder or doubt the love of God
It’s never short and you’re never forgotten.
Every dead end that demotivates you,
is God’s way of saying, ‘Wait, there is better to come’

It’s easy to lose hope in God,
But harder it is to stay faithful in Him,
and to continue praying and waiting for your break!

“‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” Mark 9:23

So stay strong and keep praying, because when all hope is lost, your faith in God must remain strong.

– Subah Santosh (me 😛 )

God will take you through it all!

And I will still count my blessings…

My World had been torn apart in an instant,

Everything I dreamt of taken away without reason,

“Why me”, my mind keeps asking me,

“Why take away my little blessing?”

Within seconds, it came crashing down,

Not giving me the time to process,

Not giving me the time to let go, to realize…

That everything I had cherished was gone!

But…

Even though everything may seem bleak,

I will still count my blessings,

And even though it gets very hard,

I will still count my blessings,

Because though my heart aches with every reminder and thought,

My blessings are many and my God loves me a lot!

I am my Beloved’s and my Beloved is Mine!

Yes, I have been MIA since months now (precisely 4 and a half months)! I am happily married, the wedding went amazingly well, and here’s a few pictures from my special day…

Finally the time is here!!! Me, ready to marry my love!

The signing is over, and we are wed!!!

The newly weds, beaming with joy!

Family!!!

Our second entrance in the reception attire (as a newly wedded couple)

My extended family!

Friends who made it all the way from Bangalore 🙂

All my besties in one frame… Love you guys!

So that was a quick glimpse at my special wedding!

So even though I wanted to get back to writing as soon as I came back from my wedding, it has been terribly hectic and I haven’t really had the time to sit down and write. I must say that it has been very heart warming to see the number of people who have pinged me asking why I haven’t updated my site in so long and curious as to why Sharon isn’t back!!!

Yes, Sharon will be back soon, and yes, I will also be writing about my experiences with cooking and tasting amazing food (as promised!). As for now, I close with my promise that I will be back soon…

Sharon Stone is going on a break!!!

So, I start with an apology again! I am so so so late in uploading the next chapter of Sharon’s adventure… I have a legit reason and you know it! I AM GETTING MARRIED… and my wedding is just about 53 days away…

53-days

This is a countdown I started with when I had 280 odd days to go for my special day, and now it is just 53 days away. Things are getting busy and I am travelling back and forth between Bangalore and Chennai. Between work, studies and my wedding preps; I feel it would not be possible to put my all into my writing, and therefore I am putting Sharon’s story on hold.

Also, I am right now speculating publishing my book. Please do leave your comments on this, I need some backing up to be sure of what I am doing. Do pick up a copy for yourself or your kid, once it’s published.

On a side note, I am going to add a page on food – eat outs that I visit and frequent, food that I love to cook (recipes) and little food tricks (not my own, but useful anyways). Comments welcome on this too; ideas, suggestions or encouragement, anything that comes to your mind! Just don’t be completely tangential 🙂

So stay tuned for what’s to come, and PLEASE subscribe and help me grow as a writer!

You Can’t Put Sharon to Dust: Chapter 5

sharon-5Patric stood rooted to the spot, what was he to do? Detective Santosh had locked the door from the outside when he left the room. Also, Nalson’s shot would not be audible to the detective as Nalson had a silencer attached to his gun. This was not the situation he wanted to be in. He was hoping to extract the truth out of Nalson, and once he confessed, he would have ensured that the cops would ease Nalson’s sentence, on account of his confession.
Nalson held on to Sharon and screamed, “Do something fast Patric, or she will be dead. You don’t want to be the reason for her death too, do you?”
Patric’s hands started to shiver. Sharon wondered what Nalson meant by that. She was worried for her life. But this was not the first time Sharon was in a situation like this, and she always managed to get out alive. She worried very little about her own welfare and this is what most worried her roommate Kathy.
For a moment, Sharon caught Patric’s attention, and as he looked at her, she could see him visibly relax. Patric looked right at Nalson and said, “Listen, Nalson, you are just acting out of fear. Don’t be scared, we will help you if you help us. What you are doing now isn’t really helping!”. As he said this, he took a small step forward towards Nalson.
“Who and what do you think I am scared of? I told you man, don’t come any closer, don’t come near me or I will shoot her. You just don’t listen, do you? I guess he doesn’t give a damn about your life, Sharon! All he wants is justice for his parents who have been gone for a long time. Grow up Patric, get over the past!”. His glance moved from Patric to Sharon and back to Patric as he spoke.
Patric instantly knew he had made the wrong decision stepping close to Sharon, as Nalson aimed the gun at him and shot. Luckily, he was shaking all over, and missed his aim by a couple of inches.
Sharon breathed out in relief, it was very obvious that Nalson was acting out in fear. He was scared of something that they did not understand. She decided to take a shot in the dark, looked straight at Nalson and said, “Listen, Nalson, I understand that you are scared, of whom, I do not know. Just give our offer a thought. You can still surrender and give us the information we are asking of you. You have nowhere else to go from here. You are stuck.”
Nalson seemed to consider Sharon’s words for a moment, and then screamed, “No, I will not be tricked. I will not! I have to live for my family!” and started randomly firing at the wall. Luckily, his bad aim ensured that he didn’t meet his target even once.
Finally, his gun ran out of bullets, and Nalson sunk to the ground. Weeping into his hand, he said, “I am so scared. I shouldn’t have been caught. This was not the plan. And now I’m stuck here. If I confess to you, I will be putting not only my life, but also my family’s life in danger. I cannot let anything happen to my children, they cannot know that their father is a criminal and a murderer. It would devastate them.”
Sharon looked at him, eyes filled with pity, and said, “Listen, you will be safe. You will definitely go to jail eventually but you and your family will be safe. We will deploy security to protect your family every moment of the day till we are sure that the people behind this are brought to justice.”
Nalson wiped his tears, took a deep breath, and said, “Well, I have no choice but to trust you. The main guy who put me on to killing your parents, Patric, was Smither Francis. He had two men who took care of all his work. Their names were Smitherine and Daggy John.”
Now, they had a confession, but they did not have it recorded. Sharon immediately felt silly for not carrying a recorder on her and catching Nalson’s confession on tape. Sharon looked at Patric, disappointed. Patric said, “We will figure something out. Now that he has agreed to confess, it will not be a problem getting him to confess again.”
At that moment, they heard the door unlock and Santosh came running in, “Guys, you did it, you got his confession on tape. Oh, I forgot to tell you, we have video and audio surveillance in this room. I captured all of it on tape.”
Patric glared at Santosh and screamed, “If you were right outside listening to us, why the hell didn’t you come in when you heard the gunshots Santosh?”
Santosh looked away sheepishly, “Actually, I had stepped out to pick up some doughnuts for Sharon and you, and was not around the monitor when that happened. When I stepped back in and looked at the monitor, Nalson was on the floor, weeping and confessing to the murder and was dishing out the names of the other killers!”
Sharon sighed, and said, “Cops! Never on time anywhere!”
Patric, hardly able to hold back his laughter, said, “So, Santosh, can we have our doughnuts now? And spare one for our man, Nalson, he has had a pretty rough day!”
Santosh brought in the doughnuts and they sat down and discussed the next course of action. Once they ate, Santosh sent Nalson home with a security in tow and the three of them sat down to discuss Nalson’s confession.
“It really amazes me how you get people to confess to their crimes, Sharon! We got all the information we need, and will get started on nabbing the rest of the suspects from tomorrow.” Santosh was pretty impressed with Sharon’s detective skills.
As they were discussing the details of the case, time flew by and it was nearly time for dinner. Sharon, looking at the time, said, “I’m starving, shall we head out and grab some dinner?”
Both Santosh and Patric agreed and they decided to head to Connie’s for some fully loaded burgers. Just when they were stepping out of the station, Santosh’s phone rang, he picked it up and spoke for a couple of minutes. When he cut the call, he looked at Patric and Sharon, and said, “Looks like I will need to skip dinner. Nelson almost got attacked by Daggy John. Nalson is safe, but the security detail assigned to him shot Daggy. He has been taken to the Society Private Hospital and he seems to be recovering well from the gunshot wound. We can go in sometime tomorrow afternoon to question him.”
Poor Nalson, he was right about his being unsafe. They were glad the security was there and that he was safe. Patric and Sharon decided to meet Santosh at the hospital at 2 pm the next day, bid him goodbye and then decided to drive down to Nalson’s home to visit him.
In fifteen minutes, they were outside his home, and rang the bell. Nalson opened the door after almost five minutes, and he had the security guard standing next to him. He said, “So you heard about what happened!” he looked visibly shaken, “I have sent my wife and kids to her parent’s place. Santosh has assured me that he is assigning people to guard that house as well. I knew this would happen. I somehow managed to get off by saying it’s an issue related to my office. But my wife is no fool, and I’ll have to come up with some answers for her before this ends.”
“Well, you could tell her the truth. You are no more that man and you are going to pay for your mistakes. I am sure they will love you and forgive you for this whole thing, only if you would try to be honest with them!”, said Sharon.
He agreed with Sharon’s point and decided to confess to his wife as soon as this whole mess was sorted out. “Sharon, good point, I cannot lose my family over this, I will do as you say. Now, on a more serious note, Daggy John is stupid, no wonder his attack was so pathetic and he got caught so easy. I really cannot understand why Smither would send him and not Smitherine, his go to person for any kind of planned killing. There is something really suspicious here. You guys need to watch out for these two, they are trained killers.”
“We understand, Nalson. But I have Sharon here to guide me, and she can outsmart the both of them anyday!”, said Patric, with pride.
Sharon beamed on hearing this. She sure was developing a soft corner for this man.
Nalson cut into their moment, and said, “Guys, I’m hungry, and I’m sure you two are starving. Come to the dining area and let’s eat. I have some lovely lasagna that my wife has left back for me. You will absolutely love it.”
 sleep
They sat together and ate some of Nalson’s wife’s delicious lasagna. They ended their hearty meal, with a big slice of homemade chocolate cake. Sharon and Patric thanked Nalson, wished him goodnight and head back to Patric’s home to catch up on some well-deserved sleep. After all, who knew what the next day had in store for them?

You Can’t Put Sharon to Dust: Chapter 4

sharon-4

Hours later, Nick and Sharon slowly regained consciousness. As Sharon opened her eyes and looked around, she realized that they were trapped in a room with just one window. Nick was slowly opening his eyes too at the other end of the room. Sharon called out his name and he looked at her. They both had the same expression on their face, the expression that confirmed that they were surely trapped this time.

Nick walked up to the window and looked down hopefully. His face fell as he said, “Sharon, we are stuck! This room is easily at least 20 floors up. We cannot jump out of this window, it will be a definite leap to death!”

Sharon sighed and agreed. They were so trapped! What could they do to get out of this? She walked up to the window and looked out. Right outside the window there was a 5 feet ledge. Now that gave Sharon an idea! She turned round and faced Nick, “Did you see that ledge outside?” she asked, her eyes gleaming.

“Yes, I did!” said Patric, “Oh my Gosh, Sharon, are you suggesting we walk that ledge and get into the next apartment through their window? Don’t you think we will freak the hell out of some complete strangers?”

“Yes, we will, surely we will, Nick. But it is you, c’mon, you’re a celebrity. Who wouldn’t want to have a celebrity pop in through their home window and request for help?” continued Sharon excitedly.

“Oh yes, you do make sense. And I hate that I am admitting it. Well, I do know why I chose you over all those other conventional detectives out there! Let’s do it! If I live through this, it’s going to be one hell of a story to tell my fans when I win my first Oscar.”

sharon-ledge

So they opened the window and with a quick glimpse down, Sharon climbed out the window onto the ledge and moved a little to the right to make way for Nick.

Nick followed her and carefully shut the room’s window shut. They were 20 stories up standing on a ledge. Nick’s legs started wobbling and Sharon sensed his fear, she looked up at him, concerned, and asked, “Can you do this?”

“Sharon, I may have forgotten to mention that I have a serious fear of heights!”

“OMG Patric, why didn’t you mention this before?” screamed Sharon, “I wouldn’t have forced you into this!” She was visibly upset about dragging him.

“Well, I didn’t want to come off as being a coward in front of such a brave and beautiful girl like you, Sharon. You inspire me! And also, we had no other way out and I have no intention of rotting away there for who knows how long!” Nick winked at her as he said this.

Sharon turned scarlet, paused and then spoke, “That was sweet, Nick! You really have a way with women.” She giggled and then continued, “You trust me right?”

Patric nodded. “Ok, look at me, hold my hand, here” she held out her right hand and he held on to it. “The next window is just ten feet away, that’s not much distance. Now I want you to only look at me and follow my steps, DO NOT look down no matter what! Do you understand me?”

“Yes”, said Patric. He seemed more confident and followed Sharon, holding on to her hand. In no time, they were outside the next window, Sharon looked at him, and said, “Let’s give them a surprise they will remember!”

Sharon slowly tried prying the window open. To their luck, the window wasn’t locked and she could easily slide it open. She held on tight to the railing and slid into the house, still holding on to Patric’s hand. Patric refused to let go of Sharon’s hand as he tried to maneuver into the house. He was one leg in when he lost balance and fell into the room, toppling Sharon and landing on top of her.

Sharon let out a yelp in pain when she felt the full impact of his weight. A man in a bathrobe came running into the room with a baseball bat, ready to charge. When he saw Patric, he lowered the bat, and screamed, “Oh my Lord! Is this Patric Steward? Hoooonnneeeeeeeyyyy, come here, we just had a celebrity fall into our home!”

A women shrieked from the other room, “Are you drunk Stewy? What are you saying?” her voice got louder and shriller and as she finished speaking, she entered the room and stood shell shocked when she realized that Stewy was right! Patric Steward, the Patric Steward was lying in their bedroom on top of some random woman whom she did not recognize. She immediately took her mobile out and started clicking pictures.

Patric tried hard to cover his face and said, “Woman, take that thing away” He gently got off Sharon and looking at her, he asked, “Are you alright? I am so sorry Sharon, I didn’t meant to do that! I was just so scared!”

Sharon said, “I am fine Nick” her voice quivering. She did not look very much alright and she was looking at Patric strangely. Patric wondered if she was alright as he looked at her.

Stewy interrupted their moment, saying, “What were you doing 20 floors up anyway? Is this for some kind of a reality show stunt?”

Patric then repeated the whole incident to them. Stewy stared at him, pale, and said, “Let me call the cops. I know the guy you are talking about, and if you want him caught, we better get the cops here soon, because he usually should be heading back home in an hour. Honey, give them some water and something to eat, they look really tired. I will make the call to 911 and get them here ASAP”

Stewy walked out to the next room and they could soon hear him speaking to the cops. The woman spoke, “Hi, I am Liza, Steward’s wife. Let me get you some clothes and a towel to take a shower”, she went to the next room and came back with some clothes and a towel each for them. “The bathroom is that side, we have two shower cubicles inside, it’s a his and hers. You guys can take a shower, get dressed and come out, and I will whip up some of my famous Mac n Cheese for Patric Steward” she looked almost dizzy with excitement.

Patric and Sharon thanked her and walked into the shower. They looked at each other uncomfortably, but when they walked into the bathroom they realized that both the shower cubicles were completely curtained inside for privacy. They both head in for a shower and within 15 minutes they were seated in Liza and Steward’s dining table, eating some of Liza’s famous Mac and Cheese. It was truly delicious.

“Oh my Liza! I have never eaten anything as tasty as this. No wonder you said it’s a hit among your friends. What makes your Mac and Cheese so yummy?” asked Sharon, between mouthfuls of cheesy goodness.

“Well, considering it is Patric sitting here, I shall tell you. I add a bit of cottage cheese to add that extra touch of creamy goodness.”

Steward walked in just about then, “Patric, the cops came in and have nabbed the guy who kept you hostage. They have taken him to the closest station and have asked me to bring you guys in. Honey, the cop just informed me that this pretty lady, Sharon, is quite the famous detective. On hearing her name, he asked me to get you both to the station immediately to question that guy.”

Sharon beamed as Patric went on to explain to Liza and Steward of Sharon’s expertise in solving mysteries. It sure felt good to hear someone as famous as him speak such good things about her, she surely must have been doing something right. At that very moment, seeing Patric’s pride as he spoke about her, made Sharon feel a tingling pride within.

Soon, they were done with their meal and Steward dropped them at the cop station. Outside, as Patric got out, he quickly hugged Steward and passed him his number, “Call me sometime before my movie release, I will arrange for premier tickets for you, your wife and anyone else you want to bring along!”

Steward smiled and thanked him, and as Sharon got down, he opened her door, hugged her and said, “You are going places, young lady. Just keep at it, you are one smart lady and I am happy to have had a chance to meet you.”

Saying that, he stepped into his vehicle and drove away. Sharon and Patric walked into the station and introduced themselves to the receptionist. They were taken in to a room and were introduced to the cop on the case, “Detective Santosh”

Detective Santosh was a dusky man, average height, smart looking, fit, about 30 years of age and of Asian origin, probably from India. He looked up at them as they entered and asked them to take a seat.

“Hi Sharon and Patric. Nice to meet you guys. I’m sorry Patric, I know you are the actual ‘celebrity’ here, but my oh my, I am more in awe of Sharon! I cannot believe I am sitting in front of the famous detective, Sharon Stone. OH, is my girlfriend going to be jealous or what, we are crazy about you.”

Patric was pretty taken aback, he was usually the one who drew all the attention in any room. But here, Sharon was the center of attention, how unusual it was!

“Well, you are flattering me, Detective Santosh”, said Sharon, blushing.

Patric felt a weird sensation, was it jealousy? Seeing Sharon blushing at Detective Santosh’s words. He decided to ignore it.

“Sorry, but before we get started, could you sign this handkerchief and address it to me and my girlfriend, Subah?” asked Santosh, skeptical.

Sharon smiled and signed the kerchief, “Lots of Love to my very first fans, Santosh and Subah. Stay happy and in love always. God bless!”

“Ok, now, we are done”, said Patric, impatient, “Detective, please tell us what happened! Where is that scumbag Nick?”

“Nick? Patric, that is Nalson Dogwell, the man responsible for your parents’ death”, said Santosh.

“Nalson??!?!?!?” screamed Patric, he was visibly angry. Sharon placed her hand on his knee and he slowly calmed down, “What was he trying to do?”

“Well”, said Santosh, “He isn’t confessing to anything. That’s why I called you guys in. Can you and Sharon take a go at questioning him? I am hoping Sharon’s expertise will get him to spill the beans and reveal his true intent behind abducting you!”

“Yes, we can”, said Sharon, instantaneously. Finally, she could show Patric what she was made of.

Santosh lead them into the room where Nalson sat behind a table. They could hear Santosh lock the door from outside as soon as they entered. The room was bare except for a white table in the center. Nalson sat on one end of the table and across him were two empty chairs. Patric and Sharon sat across him. Nalson looked at Patric with vengefulness and hatred clearly visible.

“So, Nalson, I finally meet you, you shameless killer!” Patric spat out.

“Hello little boy, hello little Patric, mommy and daddy are dead, are you going to cry little Patric” mocked Nalson.

Sharon noticed Patric twitch and prayed that he would keep his composure. Patric took a deep breath and said, “Listen, I don’t want to play your cheap games, just tell me where the rest of your friends are! You guys should be behind bars for what you did!”

Nalson laughed like a mad man, “Dream on little boy, I ain’t going to be telling you nothing! And believe you me, I will be out within the next day, they cannot keep me in here for long!”

Sharon knew this meant that he had his friends who would get him out on bail, “Listen, Nalson, as long as I am here, no one can get you out on bail. So dream on about seeing the sunlight ever again.”

Doubt was clearly visible on Nalson’s face, for a moment an expression of contemplation was visible, and Sharon expected him to confess any moment.

But in the matter of seconds, Nalson’s expression went cold and he stared at Sharon like a mad man and screamed, “Sharon, you aren’t going to decide my faith!” and before Patric could realize, he had jumped forward, nabbed Sharon by the hair and had her pinned against the wall, with a revolver pointed to her head.

How did he get that revolver in, wondered Patric, and took a step towards Nalson, “Listen, leave her, she has done you no harm!”

“Tell Detective Santosh to let me out now”, screamed Nalson.

Patric was shocked, how was he going to get Sharon out of this?

“Listen, Nalson, just let go of her and we can negotiate the terms of your release with Detective Santosh! Let her go now or you will only make it worse!” He slowly took another step towards Nalson.

“One more step and I will shoot her, I told you to stay away!” screamed Nalson. As a warning, he fired his gun in Patric’s direction. The bullet missed Patric by inches and hit the wall behind him. There was no sound, as he had a silencer attached. Would Detective Santosh even realize and come in to save them, pondered Patric!

They were trapped! AGAIN!
